Assembly Election Hustings 2017

20th February 2017

The snap Assembly election in early 2017, triggered by the late Martin McGuinness' resignation over the RHI scandal, had the highest turnout at a NI election in well over a decade. This interest in politics was demonstrated by the huge audience of almost 250 members of the public.

 

This hustings also attracted significant media coverage - on the BBC website, from local bloggers, as well as being featured on BBC and RTÉ radio the following day. The radio coverage, alongside recordings of highlights from the evening's debate can be heard below.
